Comm Unplugged is officially banned from Ping.sg
Following my previous post and the visit by Ping.sg founder Uzyn Chua, this blog has been banned (and I supposed my user account has been deleted too). I think I have said a lot, and the short reply by Ping.sg founder was sufficient to show the arrogance (and that of the community manager) behind what he called “a community”. Still, I do not regret saying what I have said and I stand by my words.
I don’t intend to debate if I should be unbanned, for the fact that it is now a clear example if it is indeed a “community”. I put the facts up here, but the readers - you - are to draw your own conclusions.

So what’s the official reasons this time?
Well, I am not too sure either because I have not received any email nor notification from him or his community manager. Ping’s founder Uzyn also fell short of informing when he commented in my previous post.
Err.. sounds like;
‘As long as you are not with me, you are against him’.. George bush, is that you?
You guys must be the Axis of Evil!
Perhaps should all chip in to develop one true community, guys. That works on brain and not brawn in banning others.
Hey Paddy, thanks for taking time to drop by with your busy flying schedule.
Bush is a virus.
Haha…
*beckoning to Ed and the others who are banned*
Come… to…. the …. Dark…. Side….!!!
ongratulationss and let’s party!!
I love sharing and blogging is a passion. This blog will stay, and continue to share (through my linking).
I am not politically involved in this since I don’t know most people from the (present) community, but as a silent protest against such bad management, I’ve removed my blogs from ping.
Not that anyone would miss me anyhow.
Isaiah, as far as I can see, some prominent bloggers have withdrawn from the site as their silent protest as well. You have just joined them.
While maybe true that it is a privilege to use ping.sg, it is also true that contributions from bloggers makes up the content. As such, I already removed mine from pinging since 7.7.2008.
In short, they can keep this up. But probably in a year or so, while they might still around, ping.sg will be nothing more than a stump with no leaves on a cliff-face where the vultures nest.
Let the ICQ-ification of ping.sg begin.
Strange. All along, I had the impression you are an ardent ping supporter.
If banning wasn’t targeted at critics? Why ban you? Should Uzyn attend English lessons?
For that, I will leave it to the readers to form their own conclusions.
What’s the meaning of a community really? If the “community” is deemed to belong to one and only one person.
I think Uzyn has provided the answer in his comment in the previous post.
[...] Yesterday morning, I woke up and discovered that Endoh has joined the banned list. [...]
It’s they don’t gave a “delete my account” privil.
Again, ping shld hav a “delete my account” privil.
Get a life! It’s only a website!
Like this we should all hear no evil and speak no evil? Beware of de-evolution.
Lol.
We may have disagreed and perhaps even disliked one another over the matter of blogging for money and such and even over the definition of which bloggers are credible from a long time ago. Those maybe viewed as ’support’ for ping.sg, I guess.
But let me point out that when one’s objectives and that of ping.sg no longer coincides on the matter of principles, then one stand up for his principles.
Meantime, I apologise to you for past comments on that matter I have made which are offensive.
Errrr… now you lost me.
That was for Rachel.
Some of my comments a long time ago on ping.sg about ‘misleading posts’ and ‘blogger credibility’ are quite offensive. So, I apologise for them.
There’s actually a [Reply] function underneath each comment, up to a max of 3. You can actually reply directly to her with the function. It helps a lot so readers wouldn’t be confused who’s replying to who.
No major harm done.
Disagreed, yes. Dislike, no. Generally I can be quite objective with people who disagree with me and look to the issues and points raised. Unless the person is horridly obnoxious and detestable, in which case you were not. I remember you were rather obstinate though. Haha!
Also, I was not really affected because I know myself for who I am - and was not and will not be affected by perceived opinions of whom I am not.
So, no hard feelings. Do appreciate you having what it takes to apologize though!
Pulled out of ping as well.
Although in hindsight, maybe I should have just written something about ‘community’ and get myself banned, instead of just protesting silently.
Hi origami wolf, I guess that has to be your own perogative. Nobody can really tell you if you should or should not.
Thanks for dropping by.
Just curious, wolf. What’s your login name in ping?
origamiwolf - but I almost never login ‘cos I’m usually on a shared computer.
